About the Role You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The Clinical Nurse Educator provides support and clinical development/ training to staff while fostering a preceptor/mentor role. The role formulates, coordinates, and evaluates unit based educational programs; assessment and demonstration of clinical procedures.

The aim of the position is to use a participation methodology to build: • The capacity of individuals to deliver safe, evidenced based care, incorporating reflective practice with the aim of continual improvement. • A patient and family focused culture that supports the NUM and staff to deliver innovative models of care and proactively manage change. • The position contributes to the overall improvement of health service delivery.

Ideal Candidate • Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and relevant post registration experience in the specialty. • Holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer. • Understanding and experience in various teaching methodologies including the ability to plan, conduct and evaluate unit based education. • Well-developed leadership, communication skills and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability liaise in a multidisciplinary environment • Ability to work professionally in a team and be self-directed with time management and prioritising skills.
