Role : Cloud DevOps Engineer • Brisbane based • Long term engagement, up to 5-year total contract period • Hybrid, 50 % WFH • Competitive hourly rate, No agency fees About the role We’re seeking an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer to help build and maintain secure, reliable cloud delivery foundations for a large government department in Brisbane. You will design and build CI/CD pipelines, implement Infrastructure as Code, champion DevSecOps/GitOps practices, automate cloud environments, and uplift monitoring/observability and operational resilience. This is a hands-on engineering role working across delivery, architecture, security and technology stakeholders in an agile environment. Required skills • Strong AWS experience (e.g., VPC, serverless, ECS, IAM, etc.) • Strong IAM knowledge (design and implementation) • DevOps / SRE capability: CI/CD, observability, incident response, reliability practices • Terraform (IaC) expertise: provisioning, state management, locking, and best practices • Scripting skills: Python and Bash (Java also valued; Node.js a bonus) • Advanced Git skills: branching strategies, PR workflows, reviews • Strong engineering practices (e.g., modularisation, DRY principles, maintainable code/IaC patterns) • Security-focused delivery including secrets management best practices • Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, CIDR/subnets, firewalls, load balancing To discuss, please call Moitri on 07 3291 5408 or Bharti on 07 3291 5403 **Application closing 27th July Discover our exclusive contractor benefits at Peoplebank • Peoplebank offers a suite of benefits for our direct contractors.
