Cobar Water Board - Expressions of interest for President (5-year term) The Minister for Water is seeking nominations for the position of President of the Cobar Water Board. The Cobar Water Board is a statutory authority established in 1963. The Board was established with the purpose of supplying bulk water to Cobar Shire (for subsequent treatment and distribution to the town of Cobar) and the local mining companies. The Water Management Act 2000 requires that the Board consist of seven part-time members appointed by the Governor. The President of the Board is selected by the Minister for Water, the Hon Rose Jackson MLC. Expressions of interest are sought from people who can demonstrate they meet the following desirable criteria: * Demonstrated affinity with the Cobar community. * Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with local residents, community groups and businesses. * Experience in working with boards and/or committees. * Experience in business management. * Engineering experience or qualifications. * Understanding of local government processes. * Understanding of water supply issues in the Cobar region. Cobar Water Board Publication Guide Board President is renumerated for travel expenses and provided $2,020 per year to attend quarterly meetings. The appointment is for a period of five years.
