As an experienced Commercial Cook/Function Chef, you will join a catering team providing opportunity to prepare and present exciting catering for a range of events within our newly refurbished Camden Civic Centre and Oran Park Administration Centre. Customer satisfaction will be at the heart of everything that you do. Working in an environment where exceeding customer expectations is part of every day. You must have the ability to work well under pressure and meet customer expectations in regard to quality and timeliness of meals. Essential: • Qualifications as Commercial Cook or Chef and significant and relevant experience in the functions/hospitality industry. • Knowledge of issues pertaining to food safety, licensing, coordination of catering resources and demonstrated experience in hands on management of a range of food items. • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team within a commercial kitchen • Demonstrated understanding of menu planning and food cost management • Flexibility and capacity to work during operational hours over a seven day spread, as rostered. • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders with evidence of exceptional interpersonal communication, customer service and negotiation skills • Excellent time management and planning skills in a commercial kitchen/ event environment • Ability to work independently or as part of the team with demonstrated experience in rostering, mentoring and motivating the kitchen team • Ability to endure significant physical activity for extended periods • Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principals and to act with probity at all times • Current Drivers licence Desirable: • Experience in stock management • Proficiency in a range of Microsoft computer software • A commitment to continued professional development Further Information : Michael Ligato, Team Leader Cultural Operations - Camden Civic Centre, (02) 4653 3136 Closing Date for above position : 17/08/2026 Position Description: For full position description details click here
