We are looking for like-minded individuals to join our fun and dynamic team! We are seeking an experienced and professional Emergency Management Coordinator with a passion for community. In this role you will have the following accountabilities: • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Services Team's responsibilities and enable them to prepare and plan to meet key objectives and statutory responsibilities. • Coordinate the planning, preparation, implementation and monitoring of the departmental budget, including the Local Government Grant Scheme • Advise the Shire, Council and community as required on Emergency Management matters. • Work with DFES and surrounding local governments to ensure an effective emergency management capability for the Shire. • Undertakes functions, activities and training that support the compliance with emergency services legislative requirements. Our preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skillset: • Demonstrated experience pertaining to emergency management, including mitigation activities, community preparedness, emergency management compliance and community education. • Demonstrated ability to initiate, implement, manage, and complete projects particularly pertaining to bushfire and emergency management operations. • Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team and work effectively as a team member and in conjunction with stakeholders, contributing to emergency management within the Shire. • Demonstrated experience in preparing high-quality reports, briefing papers, agendas and minutes for Executive Leadership Teams, Boards, Committees and external stakeholder groups, with the ability to present complex information clearly, accurately and in a professional manner to support effective decision-making.
