What you'll be doing The District Director Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drugs provides strategic and operational leadership of Southern NSW Local Health District’s (SNSWLHD) Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drugs Services (MHAOD). This includes inpatient and community services, and priority programs, across the life span. This position is responsible for ensure services are aligned with the Service Level Agreement and contemporary, evidence-based, safe and high quality.

Selection Criteria • Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant professional experience or a combination of both. • Extensive experience at a senior level in the delivery and management of Mental Health Services and/or Alcohol & Other Drugs Services. • Demonstrated extensive experience leading operations and strategy of public health services. • Demonstrated achievement in successfully managing large multidisciplinary teams, inspiring and coaching staff, managing performance, and fostering positive workplace culture and workplace wellbeing. • Demonstrated extensive experience managing people, finances, performance, and assets of a large and complex service delivery organisation, while ensuring key performance indicators are met, and services are safe and high quality. • Demonstrated experience building partnership networks between government and non-government organisations. • Demonstrated advanced written and verbal communication skills; and proven advanced conflict resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills. • Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
