About the Role Reporting to the Director of Integrated Care, Allied Health and Community Services, the Strategic Lead, Renal Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) Renal Services.  The role is responsible for driving the delivery of integrated, patient-centred, and evidence-based renal services that are responsive to the needs of local communities and aligned with the district’s strategic priorities. Working collaboratively with clinicians, managers, Clinical Networks, and the Clinical Governance Unit, the Strategic Lead develops and implements innovative models of care, strengthens multidisciplinary service delivery, and leads strategic and operational planning to ensure sustainable, high quality renal services. The position oversees clinical governance, quality improvement, risk management, and accreditation activities, while fostering a culture of patient safety, continuous improvement, and innovation. The role requires highly developed leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills to build effective partnerships across the health system, contribute to business planning, influence policy and service development, and support the implementation of integrated renal and chronic disease pathways. Through strategic planning, sound governance, and a commitment to excellence, the Strategic Lead ensures renal services deliver exceptional patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and compliance with national standards. About You You are an experienced health service leader with extensive expertise in strategic planning, service development, and the delivery of integrated, patient centred healthcare across complex and diverse health environments.   Your background includes leading multidisciplinary teams, driving service improvement initiatives, and working collaboratively across acute, outpatient, and community settings to deliver high quality, evidence-based care for people living with chronic and complex conditions, including renal disease. You bring demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships, consult effectively, negotiate outcomes, and lead teams through change.  You are highly organised, analytical, and solutions focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, patient safety, and achieving strategic and operational objectives.  You possess strong management and conflict resolution skills and have demonstrated success in leading diverse teams through complex operational challenges while fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture. Your advanced computer skills include proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, data management systems, reporting tools, and spreadsheet analysis, enabling informed decision making and performance monitoring. You have a sound understanding of contemporary renal care, chronic disease management, and current best practice models, together with a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and evidence-based service delivery. Supported by relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive leadership experience within the health sector, I am well equipped to provide strategic leadership to renal services and contribute to the ongoing delivery of safe, effective, and sustainable healthcare.
