Expression of Interest – Privacy, FOI & Information Governance Professional Location: Perth, WA Employment Type: Contract Sector: State Government and Public Sector About the Opportunity DFP Recruitment is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced professionals across the Privacy, Freedom of Information (FOI), Information Governance, Records Management, and Responsible Information Sharing (PRIS) sectors for upcoming opportunities within Western Australian Government agencies. As organisations continue to strengthen their governance, privacy, and information management capabilities, there is increasing demand for professionals who can support compliance, policy development, information sharing, records management, and legislative obligations. Key Responsibilities - Freedom of Information (FOI) • Manage and coordinate Freedom of Information (FOI) requests in accordance with relevant legislation and statutory timeframes. • Assess, review, and determine access to information, including the application of exemptions and redactions where required. • Conduct document searches, retrieval, and analysis across multiple business areas and information systems. • Prepare decision notices, correspondence, reports, and recommendations relating to FOI matters. • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on FOI legislation, policies, and compliance obligations. • Liaise with applicants, internal stakeholders, and external review bodies to facilitate timely outcomes. • Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement of FOI processes, governance, and reporting activities. Key Responsibilities - Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing • Provide advice and guidance on privacy, responsible information sharing, and information governance matters. • Support the implementation and ongoing compliance with the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing (PRIS) Act 2024 . • Conduct and review Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to identify and mitigate privacy risks. • Develop, review, and maintain privacy policies, procedures, frameworks, and governance documentation. • Assess and manage privacy risks, incidents, breaches, and compliance obligations. • Collaborate with stakeholders to support responsible information-sharing arrangements and best-practice data governance. • Deliver privacy awareness, training, and organisational readiness activities to strengthen compliance and capability. About You We are interested in speaking with candidates who possess experience in one or more of the following areas: • Privacy and data governance • Freedom of Information (FOI) • Information governance • Records management • Information management systems (e.g., TRIM/Content Manager) • Policy development and implementation • Compliance and risk management • Responsible information sharing • Legislative interpretation and advisory services • Public sector governance Desired Skills and Experience Knowledge of privacy and information governance principles. • Experience working within government or other highly regulated environments. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written communication and report-writing abilities. • Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills. • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information. • Experience interpreting legislation, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
