Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals Fixed Term 1.0 FTE Postgraduate Fellow Department of Gastroenterology (Endoscopy Suite) To apply for this position, please complete an online application by clicking on the link below APPLY HERE Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position(s) in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). This position will be located at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals within the Department of Gastroenterology. The Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospital provides access to a full range of gastroenterological services including inpatient, standard and advanced interventional endoscopy and ERCP. Successful applicants will be practicing in clinical endoscopic programs in the new Endoscopy Suite. The position will be for a period of twelve months for the 2027 Clinical Year. Experience in Capsule endoscopy reporting is desirable. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within six months, may be considered. If successful, the applicant may not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after the relevant qualifications and requirements are formally completed. Successful applicants may be offered a conjoint university appointment within the Faculty of Medicine at the relevant University attached to each facility. The level of academic appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and scholarship and will be held only during the tenure of the Western Sydney Local Health District appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment. The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to the District for clinical matters Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Western Sydney Local Health District Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award Essential Requirements for Appointment 1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award. 2. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. 3. Sound clinical knowledge in clinical trials, general and interventional endoscopy, and gastroenterology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position. Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice Gastroenterology. 2. Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for the specialty. 3. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department. 8. Enrolled or intend to enrol in advanced endoscopy pathway through the Conjoint Committee for Endoscopy.
