Position InformationHunters Hill High School is a vibrant, comprehensive co-educational school situated beside Sydney Harbour, overlooking the Lane Cove River. Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 1. Proven experience in Human Society & Its Environment (HSIE) curriculum design and implementation to lead continuous improvement in HSIE courses, that embeds differentiation, program development, and high potential and gifted education with effective coordination of assessment processes to improve student achievement. 2. Demonstrated capacity to lead and inspire a diverse faculty, foster a positive, high-expectations culture, and implement strategic initiatives that deliver professional growth, collaboration, ensuring consistency and accountability in student learning with high-quality, evidence informed, programs. 3. Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills with experience as an effective member of the school executive to strengthen a positive, high-expectations school culture and lead strategic initiatives, including Aboriginal Education, that deliver measurable, whole-school improvement in student learning, wellbeing and engagement. General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policyConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
