The Opportunity As a Maintenance Support Officer in the City of Perth, you will provide administrative support to the Infrastructure Maintenance Service, with a strong focus on high-quality customer service and the timely processing of orders and invoices. You will work closely with our infrastructure maintenance crews, internal financial services and external customers to support the effective day-to-day delivery of maintenance services. Reporting to the Coordinator Civil Maintenance within our Infrastructure and Assets team, your responsibilities would primarily include: • Providing administrative support, including preparing correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting agendas and minutes; • Undertaking financial administration, including quotations, purchase orders, invoicing and expenditure tracking; • Maintaining team records and systems, including timesheets, training records, WHS documentation, service requests and operational records; and • Delivering responsive customer service by managing enquiries, service requests and complaints from internal and external customers.
About You To succeed in this role, you will possess: • Well-developed written, verbal and numeracy skills, with the ability to prepare accurate and timely reports; • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including a helpful and conflict de-escalating approach; • Demonstrated practical experience using computer programs especially SharePoint and Teams and other office technology, with the ability to support operational staff in navigating these systems; and • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing workloads and meet deadlines.
Previous Local Government experience, exposure to budgets, purchasing, invoicing or accounts payable, and knowledge of safe working systems will be highly regarded.
