About the Position

As a member of the City's Leadership Team, this position is responsible for managing the financial operations of the City including all aspects of the Council's financial systems and accounting records in accordance with the Local Government Act, Regulations, and professional standards. This role is responsible for leading the finance team to deliver financial management services including the development of financial strategies, business planning and reporting, financial risk management and compliance, managing budgeting and forecasting processes and overseeing the procurement and rates functions.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:

• Tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce and membership of CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia & NZ.

• Proven experience in managing financial operations at a senior level, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.

• Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organisational goals.

• Commitment to driving innovation and continuous improvement.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships and effectively manage change.

• Current Western Australian 'C' Class Driver's Licence.

• Current National Police Clearance
