* Ongoing Full Time, 35 hours per week * Primary Work Location: Jindabyne * Technical Officer Grade 1/3 – Salary from $78,000 up to $120,478 per annum (FTE) plus super and leave loading The salary offered to the successful candidate will be commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience, as outlined in the Crown Employees (Department of Industry) Technical Staff Award and the Technical Staff Merit Progression Guidelines. About the Role As Manager Gaden Hatchery, you will lead the safe and effective operation of the Gaden Trout Hatchery and manage the production and delivery of trout fry and fingerlings for NSW Government stocking programs. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee hatchery operations, site maintenance, budgets, infrastructure, staff supervision and visitor access. You will also help maintain strong relationships with angling groups, stakeholders and DPIRD staff, while ensuring hatchery activities meet relevant safety, biosecurity, environmental and operational requirements. About You You’ll bring experience in hatchery operations, aquaculture, fisheries management or a related field, with salmonid production experience highly regarded. You’ll be comfortable leading a small operational team, managing day-to-day site activities, maintaining safe and effective hatchery operations, and looking after budgets, infrastructure, assets and visitors. You’ll also bring a practical, collaborative approach and the confidence to work with staff, stakeholders and the public while meeting safety, biosecurity and environmental requirements.
