Marine Fitter | Defence Maritime Project $74/hr + Penalties + Allowances | 6-Month Contract | Defence Industry Chandler Macleod is currently seeking experienced Marine Fitters to join a major Defence maritime project based in Henderson, Western Australia . Working within a highly regarded Defence environment, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of critical mechanical and hydraulic systems supporting Australia's naval capability. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with strong rates and the potential for ongoing work. What's on Offer? • $74.00/hr Normal Time • $110.00/hr Time and a Half • $147.00/hr Double Time • $4.00/hr Allowances paid on all hours worked • Minimum 6-month contract • Defence industry project • Henderson location • Immediate start available About the Role As a Marine Fitter, you will be involved in: • Maintenance and overhaul of mechanical equipment • Installation, repair and testing of hydraulic systems • Fault finding and troubleshooting of marine systems • Working from technical drawings and maintenance documentation Conducting inspections and equipment rebuilds Adhering to strict safety and quality requirements within a Defence environment About You To be successful, you will possess: • Mechanical Trade Certificate • Experience as a Marine Fitter, Mechanical Fitter or similar trade • Proven hydraulics experience • Experience within Defence, naval, marine, shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, or heavy industrial environments • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards Highly Desirable • Previous submarine experience • Defence industry experience • Naval vessel maintenance experience • Australian Defence projects exposure Essential Requirements • Australian Citizenship (mandatory) • Current White Card • Current Confined Space Entry certification • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment If you're a trade-qualified Fitter seeking an opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant Defence project, we encourage you to Apply Now .
