Data Engineer - NV1 Clearance Required Location: Melbourne or Canberra Work Type: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH) Contract: Initial contract until 30 June 2027, with strong extension potential Security Clearance: NV1 Clearance is mandatory We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-profile technology program delivering modern data solutions in a collaborative Agile environment. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration solutions • Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion, transformation, and storage • Build batch and near real-time data processing solutions • Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver reliable data platforms • Ensure data quality, performance, security, and governance across data environments • Support cloud-based data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouses • Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and optimise performance • Contribute to automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives About You • 5+ years' experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused engineering role • Strong experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines and data orchestration workflows • Advanced SQL skills with experience across relational and NoSQL databases • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse , or equivalent • Experience working with structured and semi-structured datasets • Good understanding of data modelling and performance optimisation • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills If you hold an active NV1 Security Clearance and are looking for a long-term contract on a large-scale technology program, we'd love to hear from you.
