The Centre is one of the few purpose-built, dementia specific facilities in New South Wales. Garrawarra is an accredited State Government Residential Aged Care Facility providing care to people living with dementia who require support to maximise their quality and enjoyment of life. Garrawarra Centre specialises in caring for people experiencing changing behaviours while considering the care needs and acuity of all our residents. The Nurse Unit Manager at Garrawarra Centre is responsible for the care of up to 52 residents across two cottages. The purpose is to lead, direct and co-ordinate resident care; ensure the practice of nursing is safe and efficient, maintaining standards of care through continual quality improvement initiatives; lead and co-ordinate the nursing and multi-disciplinary care team at the cottage level; monitor and manage the business and management functions and processes. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and current NSW Driver's License (if required by service). 2. Relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development 3. A demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management and delivery of health care services 4. Proven ability in innovative clinical service delivery, harm minimisation and practice development 5. Effective interpersonal and communication skills that demonstrate the ability to engage, enable and manage teams 6. Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing services 7.
