About this role

The role of the Occupational Therapist involves delivering client-centred interventions to support young people's functional skills, emotional regulation, and daily living, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices. It involves providing expert advice to frontline staff and senior leadership teams on managing young people and increasing workforce capacity through support and training. The role also contributes to statewide clinical governance initiatives to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery. This role works within a multi-disciplinary team working alongside other allied health disciplines (Speech and Language Pathologists, Psychologists and Mental Health Clinicians) as well as collaborating with broader client services teams. The department offers a highly competitive professional development budget that includes external supervision.
