Collecting actively since 1826, the library preserves and presents the social cultural and scientific history of our state and our Nation for the benefit of all. Its rich collections, both physical and digital, alongside partnerships with the public library network across NSW and other vibrant collaborations enable Australians to examine their past and imagine their future. In short, the Library occupies a unique position at the very heart of our civil society. The State Library of NSW Foundation leads a diversified and sustainable philanthropic program to support the mission of the State Library of NSW. The Foundation takes a leading role in building and maintaining strong relationships between the Library and its Friends and supporters, donors, and business partners. Since 1989 the Foundation has supported acquisitions, conservation, education programs, exhibitions, events, and the digitisation of the Library’s collections. The Foundation and its donors have enabled the Library to establish the Michael Crouch Family galleries, the Ainsworth Conservation laboratory, Maps rooms, Children’s Library and Photography gallery. About the Role Philanthropy Officer plays a pivotal support role, by providing high level administrative, database, financial and event support for the programs and activity of the State Library of NSW Foundation. This role contributes to positive donor experiences, while ensuring effective fundraising operations and compliance requirements are met. Some key responsibilities include: * Providing administrative and financial support for the Foundations Branch * Coordinate and manage records complying with administrative systems * Implement database management processes in the CRM * Build collaborative relationships with Library staff to help facilitate the delivery of programs. About you To be successful in this role, you will have the following knowledge and experience: * Demonstrated high level administrative experience, with strong attention to detail * Highly developed relationship management skills with the ability to use discretion, tact and maintain confidentiality * Experience in financial reporting and meeting compliance obligations. * Significant experience maintaining a client base database (CRM) * A passion in the arts and cultural sector What we offer The State Library of NSW is a great place to work.
