The division focuses on supporting the sport, recreation and racing sector to create inclusive and welcoming environments that encourage lifelong participation, helping to build and sustain a proud, active, and connected community. Role Highlights • Exciting opportunity to expand and deliver programs at a statewide level • Strengthen connections between ORSR, regional SA and local government • Flexible work environment within a supportive and collaborative culture Role Details The Principal Project Officer, Regional Support is responsible for leading the delivery and evaluation of strategic initiatives, projects and partnerships aligned with Government and ORSR priorities. The role has a strong regional focus and is responsible for strengthening connections between ORSR, regional South Australia and local government. This includes coordinating and providing oversight of ORSR initiatives across regional communities, supporting equitable access to sport and recreation opportunities, and fostering effective stakeholder engagement. Working closely with local government, state sporting organisations, recreation bodies, community organisations and other government agencies, the Principal Project Officer identifies opportunities to build sector capability, increase participation in sport and active recreation, strengthen community outcomes and address emerging regional needs. The role is responsible for delivering targeted place-based initiatives, managing funding for regional sport and recreation projects and overseeing sport and recreation regional officers located across South Australia. The Principal Project Officer also provides leadership across the Agency, working collaboratively with other divisions and key stakeholders to ensure regional perspectives inform policy, program design and service delivery. The role actively represents and advocates for the sport and recreation portfolio across government, ensuring the needs, challenges and opportunities of regional South Australia are understood and reflected in coordinated government responses. Special Conditions • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the Agency's Performance Management Program. • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent. • Some work outside of normal hours will be required. • Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required. • This role requires a working with children check. Essential • Tertiary qualification in Sport and Recreation Management, Project Management, Community Engagement or other relevant field.
