About the team Working in the Strategy, Policy and Delivery branch, you will play a key role in driving the development and delivery of NSW Fair Trading’s strategic planning and regulatory priorities. You will help shape the direction of high-impact initiatives that influence organisational success and ensure our priorities translate into meaningful outcomes for the people of NSW. You will be part of a small, high-performing and collaborative team that operates at the centre of the organisation, working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across NSW Fair Trading and the Department of Customer Service. About the role: As a Project Officer, Strategy and Priorities, you will support the coordination and delivery of strategic planning, enterprise performance reporting and organisational priority-setting activities. The team leads strategic planning, enterprise performance reporting and priority setting, and coordinates the delivery of key strategic reporting and planning products such as the NSW Fair Trading Strategy, Compliance and Enforcement priorities, Year in Review, and contributions to the DCS Annual Report. Working across the organisation, you will contribute to the development and review of organisational priorities, monitor progress against strategic initiatives, and provide governance reporting and insights to support informed executive decision-making. You will build strong relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders, facilitate collaboration across business areas, and help coordinate the delivery of key strategic products. The role also includes providing project management as required, helping to establish effective governance, coordinate delivery, manage risks, and ensure strategic projects remain on track. The role includes hybrid working arrangements, with a requirement to attend in office twice per week and on an as-needed basis. Your day-to-day - Coordinate and support delivery of strategic and regulatory initiatives across multiple teams, ensuring alignment despite - differing priorities and operational contexts. - Engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders and executives, to support planning, decision-making and delivery. - Prepare high-quality briefing materials, reports, dashboards and presentations, translating complex information into clear, concise and fit-for-purpose outputs. - Support the development and implementation of governance processes, reporting frameworks, performance measures and communication plans. - Monitor, track and report on progress, risks, dependencies and emerging issues across initiatives. - Analyse information to identify trends, risks and interdependencies, and contribute to practical, outcome-focused solutions. - Manage competing priorities, coordinating activities and timelines across multiple stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met. - Coordinate project activities, including planning, scheduling, tracking progress, and managing risks and dependencies to support successful delivery. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: - Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and senior stakeholders. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise and executive-ready outputs. - Sound analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to identify risks, trends, interdependencies and practical solutions. - Proven organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, support governance and reporting processes, and deliver in a complex environment.
