Employment Type: Temporary Various Remuneration: As per Named NSW (Non-Declared) AHO Medical Officer Agreement 2024 Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: CAM29715 What you'll be doing The St Vincent's Hospital Darlinghurst Cunningham Movement Disorder Provisional Fellow will participate in delivery of high-quality personalised movement disorders neurological care for inpatients and outpatients including botulinum toxin clinics, dopaminergic infusion therapies for Parkinson’s, deep brain stimulation and MRI guided focussed ultrasound (MRgFUS). While primary responsibilities are primarily clinical, participation in research is expected. Applicants for this position should have completed training in Neurology with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or its equivalent. The duties and responsibilities of the position will include: • movement disorders outpatient clinics including taking a leading role in the FXTAS (FMR1 gene) carrier clinic • Attendance to monthly Neurogenetics Clinic in the Clinical Genomics Unit • Botulinum toxin treatment for movement disorders (including spasmodic dysphonia) • neurophysiology with an emphasis on movement disorders • apomorphine infusion and Levodopa gel jejunal infusion therapies for Parkinson’s • neurological management of deep brain stimulation (DBS) for movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, tremor including intraoperative assessment and DBS programming • MRI guided focussed ultrasound (MRgFUS) thalamotomy for tremor and movement disorders, including patient selection, intra-operative assessments and aftercare The position will allow the opportunity to participate in research including the established MRgFUS Research Framework and Movement Disorders clinical trials. The Movement Disorders Fellow will be required for duties outside normal working hours by arrangement. * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia * Completion of training in Neurology with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or its equivalent (post-FRACP). Attainment of FRACP in Neurology * Registration with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians * Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise. * Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team. * Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills. * Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Mission and Values of the Mary Aikenhead Ministries.
