Where You'll Be Working Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation. The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care. Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney. Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges. Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries. What you'll be doing To acquire transitional experience from an intensive care Advanced Trainee to intensive care Specialist, consistent with CICM training requirements. To participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff, to participate in continuing medical education (CME) and quality assurance (QA) programs. Visit the Workplace Giving Program for more information. * MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia. * Current registration or eligible for registration with the College of Intensive Care Medicine, eligible for registration as a Transition Year Fellow including successful completion of a Fellowship examination. * Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice. * Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management and evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team. * Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including CICM exam and supervision of junior medical staff. * Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education / continuing professional development. * Preparedness to participate in any on-call service, including on-call rosters already existing or established, if requested and credentialed.
