Employment Type: Temporary Various Remuneration: As per Named NSW (Non-Declared) AHO Medical Officer Agreement 2024 Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: CAM29744 An exciting opportunity exists at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney for a Provisional Fellow in Cardiology - Heart Failure to provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. What you'll be doing Responsibilities of this position are to assist the Heart Failure / Transplant Cardiologist in the pre and post-Transplant assessment and care of patients with severe heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, advanced heart disease, temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support and cardiac transplantation. The preferred candidate for the Fellowship will have completed Cardiology Advanced Training and have experience in diagnostic cardiac catheterisation, echocardiography, intra-aortic balloon pump insertion, right heart catheterisation and some experience in endomyocardial biopsy. The Hospital is a teaching hospital of the UNSW and University of Notre Dame and has academic associations with the Australian Catholic University, Sydney University and the University of Technology, Sydney. * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia * Successful completion of Part 1 FRACP Examinations. The preferred candidate for the Fellowship will have completed Cardiology Advanced Training, but suitable candidates seeking an elective training year will also be considered. * Completion of atleast 4 years full time postgraduate experience and demonstrated commitment to Cardiology Advanced Training program. * Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals. * Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise * Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team. * Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills. * Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the philosophies, Mission and Values of the Mary Aikenhead Ministries.
