Employment Type: Temporary Various Remuneration: As per Named NSW (Non-Declared) AHO Medical Officer Agreement 2024 Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: CAM29684 What you'll be doing * Provision of clinical services to BMT and cellular therapy patients and donors in the outpatients and inpatient setting * Conduct regular clinics for pre and post-translant and cellular therapy patients in the Kinghorn Cancer Centre * Recruit, consent and follow up patients in BMT and cellular therapy clinical trials. Participate in research and/or quality assurance activities as directed from time to time by the haematology unit and/or clinical trials unit * Assist in maintenance of quality accreditation for JACIE-FACT, CIBMTR and EBMT through appropriate data capture and adherence to SOPs, and become familiar with qpulse BMT quality management system * Contribute to BMT data management and database audits for reporting to local and international regulatory bodies in conjunction with the BMT data manager * Participate in independent (supervised) laboratory or clinical research including preparations of poster and oral abstracts for conference presentation, and preparation of manuscripts for publication * Assume a leadership role within the department, specifically in terms of leading and mentoring junior staff and advanced trainees, and providing departmental and hospital wide medical education. * Involvement in the Clinical Trials Unit. * Supervisors will provide an introduction to and support for participation within state and national peak research and quality bodies. * Promote and provide equity of care to haematology patients in the Murrumbidgee district including Wagga Wagga and Griffith hospitals. Travel alongside a haematology consultant to attend a rural/regional clinic once every 2-3 months * Rostered on call: One week per quarter 1st on call for haematology after hours * Cover the inpatient ward or other areas as directed during periods of AT annual or sick leave Where you'll be working St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney (SVHN) forms part of the NSW region of St Vincent’s Health Australia which is the largest diversified health care organisation within Australia’s not for profit and Catholic health care sectors. The Hospital is a teaching hospital of the UNSW and University of Notre Dame and has academic associations with the Australian Catholic University, Sydney University and the University of Technology, Sydney. * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia * Successful or near completion of Haematology Advanced training with FRACP and FRCPA or equivalent. If not yet completed, must be enrolled in RACP +/- RCPA haematology advanced training or equivalent. * Demonstrated ability to manage a project (For example research, quality assurance) & demonstrated ability in basic research skills; literature review; critical thinking; data collection; data analysis and reporting. * Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise. * Demonstrated organisational skills, good time management skills and capacity for self-directed learning. * At least five (5) full time postgraduate years of experience. * Demonstrated excellent interpersonal & communication skills and Capacity to work within a multi-disciplinary team * Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Mission and Values of the Mary Aikenhead Ministries.
