Challenges arise with trauma, arthroplasty and revision arthroplasty. CCLHD is known as a stable environment well support by the senior medical staff for a trainee to develop their skills clinically and professionally. Being a busy Regional Centre, the focus is on quality care for our patients in a multidisciplinary team. Gosford Hospital is the principal referral hospital and trauma centre for the Central Coast, with over 500 inpatient beds and 24/7 access to the emergency department and operating theatres. A recent $368 million dollar redevelopment delivered a new emergency department, ICU, nuclear medicine facility, special care nursery and expanded medical imaging services. Wyong Hospital is an acute major metropolitan hospital with over 300 beds providing inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to residents in the northern region of the Central Coast. A recent $200 million expansion delivered a new emergency department, ICU, paediatric unit, inpatient wards, theatres and expanded medical imaging services. In conjunction with the University of Newcastle, CCLHD has recently opened the Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute on the Gosford Hospital campus, providing additional opportunities in training and research. For questions contact our JMO Recruitment Team via CCLHD-MWEUJMORecruit@health.nsw.gov.au * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category. * Completion of at least six postgraduate years working as a medical officer with demonstrated competence in Orthopedics and experience in operating theatre and a demonstrated commitment to a career in Orthopaedics * Demonstrates ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills (at the required level of competency) and judgment and expertise. * Demonstrates teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team. * Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills. * A professional attitude and flexibility in work role with a preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and on-call rosters and the required rotations both between services and geographical location to deliver patient care (including rural locations). * Demonstrated good organisational, time management skills and commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. * Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter.
