About this role
Primary Purpose: The South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) is seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Operations Planning Officer to support operational preparedness and strengthen emergency response capability across Region 5. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside volunteers, staff and partner agencies to ensure the region is ready to respond safely, effectively and efficiently to emergencies. As the Regional Operations Planning Officer, you'll lead the development and maintenance of operational planning across the region, including pre-incident planning, risk assessments, operational preparedness and incident management capability. You'll work closely with Brigades, Groups and external stakeholders to develop response plans, coordinate multi-agency exercises, manage operational projects and provide expert advice on operational systems, resource management and emergency planning. Through your work, you'll help build the capability of our volunteers and staff while ensuring Region 5 remains prepared for both current and emerging operational risks. The CFS offers a unique opportunity for its paid workforce to support CFS volunteers in the delivery of emergency services to the community by providing operational leadership, emergency support and incident management functions. As part of this role, you'll also contribute to incident management, regional operational coordination and the continuous improvement of emergency preparedness across South Australia.
