Employment Type: Temporary Various Remuneration: As per State Award Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: CAM28973 Where you'll be working Royal Prince Alfred Hospital What you'll be doing The Resident Medical Officer position will have similar responsibilities to other junior medical officers and be allocated a five term year. They will be expected to complete at least one term at either Balmain Hospital or Dubbo Hospital. * To provide effective medical care to patients under supervision in a complex clinical environment. * Co-ordinating the admission, management and discharge planning of patients admitted to his/her Unit within the Local Health District, and ensuring that the admission and plans are documented in the medical record. * The day-to-day assessment and management of the patients in his/her Unit, communicating with them and their family the nature of their condition and its treatment. * Communicating and co-ordinating care with their team, arranging consultation with other staff when appropriate, then arranging discharge and liaising with local medical officers and other community based care modalities. * All decisions concerning the patient(s) in consultation with their immediate supervisor This position includes rotations to medical, surgical, critical care, paediatrics, O&G, and other specialties within Royal Prince Alfred, Balmain and Dubbo Base Hospitals. Staff are supported to ensure patients, their families and carers are considered as partners in care to achieve optimal patient outcomes and best possible healthcare experience. * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. * Demonstrated excellent professional behaviour in the workplace.
