About the role

As a Security Officer, you will provide frontline security, safety, and emergency response services across the hospital, responding to a broad range of situations including security incidents, emergency events, occupational violence risks, access control requirements, and patient support activities. Working closely with clinical teams, emergency services, and hospital stakeholders, you will use your professionalism, sound judgement, and communication skills to manage challenging situations and support the delivery of high quality healthcare services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Provide comprehensive security services and assistance to patients, visitors, staff and contractors whilst at the same time protecting the physical assets of the RBWH.

• Provide a first response presence to all emergency situations including helipad operations.

• Provide close personal protection to staff confronting aggressive and volatile situations in the provision of front-line health services.

• Prioritise tasks and respond to requests for security and/or emergency assistance in accordance with Queensland Health, Health Service, Facility and Unit guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols.

• Prevention, intervention, investigation and recording of crime within the Health Service as defined by statute law, including but not limited to theft, wilful damage, assault, trespass and public nuisance offences.
