About this role

You’re someone who wants to create outcomes that have a real impact on the people of NSW. Here's your chance to design and deliver efficient, customer-focused services that also enhance accessibility, sustainability and overall quality of living for more people than you've imagined. In this role, you'll: Work at the intersection of strategy, stakeholders and asset management, connecting business priorities with asset management outcomes to support better investment, risk and performance decisions. Across a diverse portfolio of transport assets and services, you will help resolve complex business challenges, strengthen asset management practice and contribute to outcomes for the people of NSW. More specifically, you will: • Build productive relationships across a large and complex organisation, working with diverse divisions, operating environments and varying levels of asset management maturity. • Provide trusted, evidence-based advice to support business priorities, strategic asset management outcomes, investment prioritisation, risk-informed decisions and organisational objectives. • Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders with differing priorities, perspectives and personalities, helping identify common ground and navigate challenging conversations, including where stakeholders may be seeking a particular answer or outcome. • Understand business context, identify underlying issues and root causes, and develop pragmatic solutions that strengthen trust, improve performance and support better decision-making. • Support improvements in asset management maturity through business planning, asset management planning, risk discussions, knowledge sharing, workshops, presentations, training and continuous improvement activities. • Work autonomously to investigate emerging issues, translate complex or technical concepts into clear practical advice, connect the right people and support outcomes across organisational boundaries, including through travel and site visits across NSW. For more information on this position and business unit, view the role description and information pack. About you You are a collaborative, resilient and analytical professional who builds credibility quickly and is comfortable engaging with senior leaders, operational teams, technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders. You bring sound asset management judgement, curiosity and pragmatism, and can ask the right questions, test assumptions and navigate ambiguity, competing priorities and challenging conversations to influence practical outcomes. To succeed in this role, you will have: • Demonstrated experience in business partnering, stakeholder engagement, strategic advisory, relationship management or similar roles within complex, asset-intensive and/or government environments. • Strong ability to establish trusted relationships, leverage networks and influence outcomes across diverse business areas and organisational levels. • Sound understanding of strategic asset management principles and asset management planning practices. • Demonstrated ability to provide balanced, evidence-based advice while navigating ambiguity, competing priorities, challenging conversations and stakeholder pressure. • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to identify underlying business, organisational and stakeholder drivers and translate complex or technical concepts into clear, plain-English advice. • High levels of autonomy, initiative, organisation and judgement, with confidence presenting to varied audiences, facilitating workshops or engagement activities, managing competing priorities and supported by appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience.
