We are looking for the best-in-class Senior Commercial Manager ideally with backgrounds in Water Infrastructure Projects other infrastructure and/or Construction Projects. We need your skills and expertise to help Sydney Water deliver a $34 billion dollar investment program over the next 10 years to build, maintain and protect the future of our iconic water resources. This is a rare opportunity to influence the commercial success of some of Sydney Water's largest and most complex infrastructure projects. Working closely with project teams and leaders to drive long-term value through our contracts and delivery partners. About the Senior Commercial Manager roles: As a Senior Commercial Manager you will lead the commercial strategy, contract management and financial management of the multi-billion dollar nominated major projects portfolio, shaping procurement transaction and driving strategic commercial outcomes while ensuring performance remains within the approved funding/funding envelop The role is responsible for providing commercial leadership during major project transactions, including developing commercial strategies, advising on key commercial decisions, proactively mitigating commercial risks, and implementing dispute avoidance and resolution strategies throughout project delivery. The role provides strategic commercial recommendations and briefings to the senior executives on significant commercial matters and drives their timely resolution. The role facilitates effective collaboration across stakeholders by balancing multiple perspectives, reinforcing strategic priorities, building strong relationships, achieving alignment on commercial objectives, and ensuring timely resolution of complex issues. About you: • 15+ years’ contract and commercial management experience in construction and infrastructure projects in a large complex organisation, in a similar organisation or industry sector, such as civil, rail, mining, oil and gas • Relevant work experience for Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors in addition to client side • Experience managing commercial contracts from $300M to $1 Billion. • Strong understanding of construction transaction and delivery models, including incentivised target cost model, DBOM, D&C, EPCM and Alliance. • Demonstrated experience in partnering with the business in effective contract and commercial management strategies, • Ability to partner closely with the business while maintaining a degree of functional independence. • Relevant tertiary qualification in quantity surveying, Construction Management, Law, Business or engineering Why our team like working at Sydney Water: • Huge multi-billion-dollar program of work which shapes Australia’s busiest and largest city.
