About The Role: The Senior Cyber Security Specialist strengthens the organisation’s security posture by identifying, assessing and mitigating cyber risks across a hybrid environment. The role leads the development and implementation of security practices, policies and controls aligned with WA Cyber Security Policy and recognised frameworks. You will translate cyber risks into meaningful business insights, support incident response, contribute to sector‐wide initiatives and provide expert advice to leadership. The role requires a holistic view across people, process and technology, and strong engagement with internal stakeholders and external agencies such as ACSC and Office of Digital Government. About You: You bring broad cyber security expertise across risk management, governance and compliance, with a strong ability to translate complex risks into clear, actionable guidance for stakeholders. You design and embed practical controls that demonstrate effective risk management across technology, processes and people. Your communication style is confident and influential, enabling you to engage effectively with senior leaders and federal‐level cyber agencies. You build strong relationships, think critically in ambiguous environments, and demonstrate the Personal Leadership behaviours expected in the WA public sector.
