The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Officer, Relief and Recovery to provide a critical role Emergency Management Victoria. About the Business Unit Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), within the Department of Justice and Community Safety, is responsible for the overall coordination of the emergency management system in Victoria. EMV drives the integration of policy, strategy, operational coordination, sector specific technology, and planning across Victoria's emergency management sector, contributing to safer, more resilient communities. EMV works closely with government and agencies across the emergency management portfolio. The organisation is led by the Deputy Secretary & Chief Executive, and Emergency Management Commissioner, and includes oversight of statutory entities and offices and the department's emergency management accountabilities. The State Relief and Recovery Capability and Operations branch is responsible for leading Emergency Management Victoria and sector relief and recovery capability, as well as state relief and recovery operational coordination before, during, and after emergencies. The branch also oversees state impact assessment coordination, including the collection, analysis, and communication of impact data and insights to guide operational planning and government funding decisions. About the Role Some of your duties will include: • Support the SCC's relief and early recovery operations, including contributing to standard SCC products and ensuring the accuracy and quality of relief and recovery information during operational periods. • Contribute to effective information flow across the SCC, including with the Public Information, Intelligence, and Planning and Resources teams. • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government departments, local government and non-government organisations, to support coordinated relief and recovery outcomes. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: • Prior experience in a support role with focuses on process improvement, change management, process analysis or operations management would be advantageous. • An understanding of Victoria's emergency management arrangements, including knowledge of relief and recovery processes is desirable. • Prior working experience within the Victoria Public service would be advantageous.
