Northern Beaches Hospital Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, 50 bed Emergency Department, 20 bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 fully equipped theatres, including hybrid theatres, 2 cardiac catheter labs, 4 procedural rooms and a state of the art education and interactive SIM Centre. The Northern Beaches Hospital offers the community comprehensive Women's Health services, thanks to the expertise of our midwifery, nursing and medical staff. The Hospital's Women's Health services include the following: Birthing services, with flexible models of pregnancy, birthing and post natal care for all patients Midwifery Group Practice Midwifery led care GP Shared Care Public and Private Obstetric Care State of the Art Birthing Faclities, including birthing pools and immediate access to theatres and urgent care, if required Premium maternity accommodation A leading standard of obstrtic and midwifery care Diverse inpatient and outpatient maternity support, including assistance with bonding, attachment, feeding and parenting, access to Allied Health Services and access to post discharge midwifery care and community supports A fully equipped and staffed Special Care Nursery to care for newborn babies from 32 weeks gestation A wide range of general Gynaecology services What you'll be doing The primary role of the Senior Resident Medical Officer – Obstetrics and Gynaecology is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to women in the labour ward, antenatal clinics and relevant patients presenting to the emergency department at The Northern Beaches Hospital. The Senior Resident Medical Officer will, under an appropriate level of supervision, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients of all ages presenting in any condition or stage of pregnancy or the puerperium; and female patients presenting with illnesses, injuries and disorders of the gynaecological or genitourinary system. THIS POSITION IS BASED AT THE NORTHERN BEACHES HOSPITAL, FRENCHS FOREST, NSW * Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role * Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment. * Adept ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team. * Adept written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and others members of the health care team. * Adept good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment. * Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. * Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
