Employment Type: Temporary Various Remuneration: As per State Award Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: CAM29309 Where you'll be working Royal Prince Alfred Hospital What you'll be doing To assist in the provision of a comprehensive, effective and high-quality medical service to patients attending the Department of Molecular Imaging (PET and Nuclear Medicine), while developing a basic understanding of medical imaging and the role of molecular imaging (general nuclear medicine) in patient management. The Medical Officer is a valued, important and integral member of the Department and forms part of the multi-disciplinary team, which includes other medical, nursing, technical (medical radiation science), scientific (physics, chemistry, radiation safety) and administration staff. The position offers opportunities for exposure to research as well as other imaging modalities and a wide range of specialty and sub-specialty areas both in the Department as well as through participation in multi-disciplinary team meetings (MDTs) in the Hospital. The position will provide valuable training for a career in medical imaging (PET-CT, general nuclear medicine and radiology). Staff are supported to ensure patients, their families and carers are considered as partners in care to achieve optimal patient outcomes and best possible healthcare experience. * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. * Two years of postgraduate experience. * Possess a sound knowledge of the practice of Internal Medicine. * A commitment to a career in medical imaging. * Able to work as part of a team and possess the professional judgement to determine when assistance from another member of staff is required. * Ensure that the principles of Quality and Clinical Governance, as set out in “The Framework for Managing the Quality of Health Services in NSW”, are implemented. * Able to implement and monitor WHS policies and practices. * Possess an understanding of EEO and be capable of implementing EEO policies.
