Employment Type: Temporary Full Time Remuneration: $94,521 - $127,827 Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: CAM30049 Senior Resident Medical Officer - Rotations Lismore Base Hospital & Richmond Network Apply now for a rotational Senior Resident Medical Officer (PGY3+) position at Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) and its peripheral sites for the 2027 clinical year, commencing 1 February 2027. The successful applicants will gain valuable experience to provide quality medical care to patients in a complex clinical environment, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This includes the assessment and management of patients across several clinical departments under the supervision of senior practitioners whilst developing broad skills in clinical decision making and practice. The Richmond Network can provide SRMO level rotations in various specialties such as (but not limited to); Emergency Medicine, ICU, Radiology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Mental Health, Haem/Onc and relief. As a teaching hospital, LBH supports its Junior Medical Officers with weekly protected teaching for prevocational trainees and a JMO Education schedule including clinical case presentations, Grand Rounds Whole Hospital, and department specific meetings and education sessions. We work closely with the University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH) who also facilitates teaching and simulation sessions for medical staff. Where you'll be working Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) is the recognised Trauma Centre for the North Coast Region and is linked with the local helicopter retrieval service. The hospital is an acute regional referral hospital of 280 beds on the Far North Coast of NSW, serving a population of approximately 170,000 people on the Far North Coast of NSW and has a busy Emergency Department (40,000 presentations annually), ICU and Coronary Care Unit, as well as Surgery (general, orthopaedic and speciality surgery), Paediatrics, Mental Health, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. LBH is an affiliated teaching hospital for medical students from the University of Sydney, University of Wollongong, University of Western Sydney and Bond University. The hospital has a strong commitment to teaching and support for its Junior Medical Officers. This includes the assessment and management of patients across several clinical departments under the supervision of senior practitioners whilst developing broad skills in clinical decision making and practice. * Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role (please address these in your response) * Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment * Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team * Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and other members of the health care team * Good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
