Working to protect the state’s environment and heritage. * Shape the future of spatial data in NSW National Parks * Temporary full-time (up to 30 June 2027) opportunities available * Office location upon negotiation across NSW, hybrid working supported * Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 + employer's contribution to superannuation The National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) are looking for Spatial Data Officers to join their Spatial Modernisation Project tasked with improving field tools, upgrading critical datasets, and building user-friendly web-based Geographic Information Systems (GIS) apps used by over 2,000 staff across the state. What you’ll be part of You’ll join a small, high-performing team of GIS and digital specialists delivering innovative solutions including: * Developing and rolling out Esri field apps (Survey123, Field Maps, QuickCapture) * Supporting data migration and modernisation of corporate datasets * Assisting in building and enhancing web GIS applications * Working with stakeholders to test, train and drive adoption of new tools What we’re looking for We’re after people who: * Bring strong GIS experience across field apps, data or web GIS * Have a passion for spatial innovation and real-world problem solving * Take ownership, work independently and deliver practical outcomes * Collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders * Communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences * Thrive in a fast-paced, agile sprint-based environment Essential requirements * Appropriate tertiary qualifications relevant to the discipline or equivalent experience * Current Australian drivers licence and willingness to fly in light aircraft.
