What you'll be doing As a Switchboard Operator within the Oral Health Service, you will provide professional, customer-focused call centre support by managing high volumes of incoming enquiries, coordinating appointments and ensuring patients receive accurate information and timely access to care. Your ability to communicate effectively, multitask and maintain data accuracy will be essential to delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position is part of a 24-hour switchboard department where shift work may be required. • Answer and manage high-volume internal and external telephone enquiries professionally and efficiently.
• Assess patient eligibility, complete oral health triage questionnaires and register patient information accurately.
• Schedule, cancel and rebook appointments while maintaining waitlists in accordance with WSLHD policies and procedures.
• Update patient records, manage data quality and coordinate interpreter services where required.
• Resolve patient enquiries and complaints, escalating complex issues appropriately while liaising with internal stakeholders to support service delivery.
