We are currently seeking applications for a Team Leader, to join RevenueSA, Property Services at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of up to 6 months. Remuneration: ASO5 – Salary Range ($92 122 - $102 456 p.a.). About the opportunity: Property Services is responsible for the accurate assessment and billing of the State’s land tax and Emergency Services Levy (ESL). The Team Leader is responsible for leading a large team that undertakes key administrative functions supporting the assessment, collection and management of land tax and ESL obligations. The Team Leader contributes significantly to the achievement of RevenueSA’s taxation objectives by: • Providing effective leadership and direction to ensure team members have the skills, knowledge, and support required to achieve organisational outcomes. • Leading and motivating the team within a dynamic and complex work environment, while effectively managing competing priorities and workloads. • Developing and maintaining productive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive business outcomes. • Providing expert advice and interpreting legislation to resolve complex enquiries and support informed decision making. • Demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems and service delivery. • Conducting regular Performance and Development Conversations with team members to support individual growth, capability development and performance outcomes. This role will undertake the following activities: • Managing the team’s workload and work allocations, to ensure service standards and operational targets are achieved within required timeframes; • Assess and determine complex applications for exemptions and remissions in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures; • Exercise delegated authority to approve exemptions and other system-based transactions; • Oversee the recognition and administration of trust-held land, including the assessment and application of land tax in accordance with legislative requirements; and • Provide guidance and support to team members in managing complex assessment matters and resolving issues. The Team Leader reports to the Property Specialist. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating policies, procedures, strategies and initiatives that reflect best practice and support organisational objectives. • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, encourage and foster a positive and high-performing team culture. • The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and deliver outcomes with limited direction. • Well-developed analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret, explain and apply complex legislation, policies and procedures in a clear and practical manner. • Proven decision-making capability, including the ability to assess a broad range of information, form balanced and evidence-based conclusions, and communicate decisions effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders. • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to think strategically, creatively and logically while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines. • A continuous improvement mindset, with a commitment to identifying opportunities to enhance processes, service delivery and business outcomes.
