Employment Type: Temporary Full Time Remuneration: - Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: CAM29981 Position Tagline We are seeking applications from enthusiastic and committed candidates for the Hospital in the Home (HITH) Trainee position at The Sutherland Hospital for the 2027 clinical year. Where you'll be working The Sutherland Hospital is a 375 bed Major Metropolitan Teaching Hospital affiliated with the University of NSW, located in the Sutherland Shire 25 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. A 44 bed Emergency Department which includes 3 resuscitation bays, dedicated Adult and Paediatric Fast Track areas, an 8 bed ED Short Stay Unit, a collocated Radiology Department with CT scanner. The addition of 60 new acute inpatient beds, including 6 additional ICU beds and a 16 bed General Medical Unit. There are 24hr diagnostic services and excellent support from Mental Health, ICU and community/aged care services and nursing staff. Sutherland Hospital provides a 24/7 Interventional Cardiology service. Inpatient services include most subspecialties; General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, Vascular Surgery, Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Oncology, Renal, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Mental Health. * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia. * A minimum of 12 months satisfactory full-time post-graduate experience, including recent demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner in an Australian Health System or within the approved competent authority pathway. * Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team. * Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education and commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. * Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and other members of the health care team. * Demonstrated good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
