The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment. Trainees will work under an appropriate level of supervision according to their level of competence to evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients of all ages presenting in any condition or stage of pregnancy or the puerperium; and female patients presenting with illnesses, injuries and disorders of the gynaecological or genitourinary system. Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including inpatient ward care, birthing unit, theatres and outpatients (e.g. antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology) clinics. Trainees will be required to work shifts including day, evening, night or on call. * Qualifications commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role, and relevant experience- at least 3 years of post-graduate experience, including at least 12 months post graduate experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology * Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, including providing leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients * Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise * Demonstrated time management and problem solving skills * Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills. * Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management * Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self education. * Previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
