Unaccredited Trainee – ENT Surgery Employment Type: Temporary Full Time Remuneration: - Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: CAM29361 The primary role of the Unaccredited Trainee – ENT Surgery is under direction and supervision to review the needs of inpatients and outpatients and to provide appropriate care and services to secure optimal health outcomes. There is an expectation that this position will contribute to the ENT on-call roster at least once a week and to the ENT on-call weekend roster as published. The Unaccredited Trainee: · Provides clinical assessments, management advice, care of emergency admissions and works with inpatients as required and directed; performing any necessary operative procedures required for the care and treatment of such patients and the arrangement of patient admission and discharge processes. · Will attend and assess patients in the Emergency Department and also provide operative care / assistance on patients in theatres during rostered hours and while on call. · Is supervised by senior medical staff to ensure they are entrusted with responsibilities commensurate within their capabilities. The Head of the Department or their delegate will conduct the mid-term and end-of-term assessments and provide feedback where appropriate. THIS POSITION IS BASED AT THE NORTHERN BEACHES HOSPITAL, FRENCHS FOREST, NSW Northern Beaches Hospital Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 fully equipped theatres, including hybrid theatres, two cardiac catheter labs, extensive digital imaging / diagnostic facilities, medical centre collocated with ED, state of the art education and interactive SIM centre and a Helipad for Emergency Transport. The Northern Beaches Hospital provides a high standard of education and training, with dedicated supervisors, teachers and a JMO Unit that supports all activities related to rostering, training, education and welfare of junior doctors. On level 4 of the 9-storey hospital is the Education Centre where doctors can access a range of facilities. These include the latest technology for teaching, simulation and presentations, plus various meeting rooms and conference areas.
