Paediatrics and Child Health, Trainee Unaccredited Position, Hawkesbury District HospitalEmployment Type: Temporary Full Time (01-Feb-2027 up to 2 years) Remuneration: $117,745 - $147,664 Hours Per Week: Up to 38 Requisition ID: CAM30070 The Paediatrics Trainee Unaccredited Position is expected to provide effective clinical management of patients, under appropriate supervision, including patient assessment, making treatment decisions, performing procedures and maintaining adequate medical records; and to develop expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. This includes supervised general management of patients admitted to the Paediatric department. What you'll be doing * Coordinate the admission, management and discharge planning of patients. * Undertake initial assessment of the patient including patient history, physical examination, formulating a management plan and ordering appropriate investigations. * Communicate and co-ordinate care with the team, arranging consultation with other staff when appropriate. * Day to day management of patients, communicating with patients and their careers. * Arrange discharge and liaison with local medical officers and other community-based care providers * Participating in 24/7 rotating roster of days, evenings, nights and weekends. Essential requirements * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category. * Current level 2 supervision (more than 12 months at level 2) or above. * Completion of a minimum of 3 (three) years of postgraduate experience. * Neonatal resuscitation (Neo resuscitation or equivalent) * Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) * This position is subject to an appropriate supervision level which can be supported by the health agency. If the incumbent's registration conditions include supervision requirements, the level of supervision must be able to be supported by the health agency for this role. * Valid Working with Children Check, cleared National Police Check. * To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy, this includes any amendments made from time to time. Selection criteria * Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role. * Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise. * Adept ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and other members of the health care team. * Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. * Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and self-education. * Current level 2 supervision (more than 12 months at level 2) or above for candidates with limited or provisional registration * A minimum of 3 (three) year of postgraduate experience.
