Where you'll be working Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is a major metropolitan teaching hospital. Patients can access a range of services including coronary care, intensive care, orthopaedics, general medicine, surgical, obstetric, respiratory, rehabilitation, paediatric, maternity and emergency care. The hospital also provides a wide range of outpatient services including allied health, dental and podiatry clinics, child, adolescent and family health, drug and alcohol, health promotion and rehabilitation and aged care. An acute mental health service is co-located at Hornsby Hospital. The new $265 million Stage 2 redevelopment was officially opened in June 2022. For more information https://www.nslhd.health.nsw.gov.au/Hornsby/Pages/default.aspx What you'll be doing The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital General Medicine Unaccredited Trainee is expected to provide effective clinical management of patients, under appropriate supervision, including patient assessment, making treatment decisions, performing procedures and maintaining adequate medical records; and to develop expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. This includes supervised general medical management of patients admitted to the Medical Oncology and Dialysis Outpatient Department as well as to participate on the After Hours and on-call medical roster. * Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role. * Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care. * High level communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience. * Demonstrated good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment. * Demonstrated high level independent clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve with an awareness of limitations and ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly. * Understanding and promotion of collaborative effort and empathy within a diverse team environment. * Excellent academic record commensurate with experience, evidence of on-going learning, teaching activities potential involvement with projects and research publications. * At least three years' post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent).
