What you'll be doing This position is primarily designed to benefit junior doctors who wish to pursue a career in surgery, focusing on General Surgery. The position will provide effective surgical services to patients under supervision within SWSLHD in complex clinical environments whilst facilitating trainee’s preparation for a career in surgery. Responsibilities include: * To provide timely and effective medical services to patients, under supervision, within SWSLHD while developing expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment. * To also communicate effectively with patients, their families and nursing, allied health and medical professionals. This strategy provides us with a clear direction for working together to deliver safe and high quality health services and build the health of our communities – now and into the future. * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia. * At least three years' post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent) * Demonstrated ability and willingness to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment. * Demonstrated excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise. * Demonstrated operative experience in General Surgery.
