Trainee - Unaccredited Position

About this role

This Unaccredited Psychiatry Trainee position is part of an exciting and innovative service that provides care to patients presenting with mental health problems within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. This position would be most suited to a medical officer with a strong interest in psychiatry or with the intention to the join the RANZCP training program in the future. It should also be of interest to a doctor taking a break in training but wanting to develop their clinical knowledge and skills in the area of child & adolescent psychiatry in an inpatient or community setting, under the direction and supervision of consultant psychiatrists. * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. * Completion of at least two postgraduate years. * Demonstrated understanding and commitment to mental health. * Demonstrated evidence of excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. * Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise. * Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self –education. * Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. * Holds a current NSW drivers licence.
