The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is an inner eastern metropolitan Council, nestled on the outskirts of the CBD. The area enjoys a reputation as one of Adelaide’s most desirable places to live, work, study and visit.

The Norwood Concert Hall is an important community asset that stimulates community pride and economic activity through a range of events, including international acts, concerts, product launches, school performances, cabaret acts etc

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and customer-focussed and is able to pull the team together to provide an out of this world experience to the patrons visiting the Concert Hall. As the Venue Supervisor, you will be joining our Community Development Department on a casual basis to assist with leading venue operations and supervising causal venue staff and contractors during events.

The Role

Reporting to the Norwood Concert Hall Coordinator, the Venue Supervisor is responsible for supervising Venue Attendants and Contractors with venue and front of house set-up, during and after event activities, as well as bar operations. You will ensure safe working for all staff through site inductions and pre-event briefings to ensure a safe and welcoming experience is provided for venue hirers, production staff, artists, and guests.

About You

To be successful in this position you will be an experienced Supervisor and pro-active team player who takes pride in directing staff to deliver exceptional customer service and possesses the following skills and experience:

• Previous experience in similar role or at least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role

• A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (or willingness to obtain)

• First Aid training, including CPR (or willingness to obtain)

• Fire Warden (or willingness to obtain)

• Understand regulatory compliance across food, liquor and WH&S along with the ability to apply these principles in the workplace

• Problem-solving skills with creative and innovative approaches

• Ability to build positive relationships with hirers, patrons, and colleagues to foster a professional and harmonious environment

• Strong organisational and management skills, ensuring efficient front-of-house operations

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with diverse audiences and all levels of management.

• Commitment to high quality customer service, remaining professional and calm under pressure

• Collaborative team player who values input, contributes to team goals, and adapts to changing priorities.

• Ability to work under pressure

• Demonstrated ability to remain professional and patient while handling customer enquiries and concerns effectively

• Be physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role
