About The Role Do you enjoy helping people, take pride in delivering outstanding customer service, and have a passion for promoting your local community? Narrabri Shire Council is seeking a professional and enthusiastic Visitor Experience Officer to join our Tourism & Community Development team. In this diverse role, you'll be the friendly face welcoming visitors to the Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre while providing accurate information about local attractions, accommodation, events, experiences and services. No two days are the same, with responsibilities spanning customer service, administration, retail, and tourism support. Key responsibilities include: • Welcome and assist visitors with tourism and local information; • Deliver exceptional customer service in person, over the phone and via email; • Manage reception duties including cash handling, receipting and banking; • Maintain accurate visitor information and database records; • Support the operation of the Visitor Information Centre and Gift Shop, including stock control, merchandising and sales; • Ensure the Visitor Information Centre is clean, organised and professionally presented; • Provide administrative support to the Tourism & Community Development team; • Stay informed about local attractions, events, businesses and tourism opportunities to promote the Narrabri region effectively. About You We're looking for someone with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills who enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds and delivering exceptional customer service. You'll be organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities, with sound administrative and computer skills, including a working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Suite. The successful applicant will: • Be confident with handling cash and point-of-sale transactions; • Be able to work both independently and as part of a team; • Have a genuine enthusiasm for tourism and promoting the Narrabri region; • Take pride in maintaining a welcoming, professional environment for every visitor; • Have a current NSW Class C NSW Driver Licence.
