It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. As a Ward Clerk (Clinical Service Administrative Officer) you will provide, develop and maintain optimum operational support within the Emergency Department. Your duties will include assisting with the clerical component of the nursing admission and answering phones, filing patient documents, computer data entry, answering patient enquiries, paging doctors as required, and collection of medical records. This position will be working a 7 day rotating roster within the Emergency Department, with a mix of shifts including mornings, afternoons and nights. Ideal Candidate • Administrative and clerical support skills including skills in the use of varied computer packages, and the ability to acquire new skills. • Communication skills incorporating the abilities of courtesy, tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality. • Thorough working knowledge of medical terminology or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
