About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and effective nursing leader to join Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) Mental Health Services. This newly created role offers the opportunity to contribute to the strategic and operational leadership of acute mental health services across the District. There are two site-based positions available, located at either: Professor Marie Bashir Centre/Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, or Concord Centre for Mental Health/Concord Repatriation General Hospital The Nurse Manager Grade 3 works in partnership with the Acute Nurse Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership of acute inpatient mental health services across SLHD. The role is responsible for coordinating access to acute inpatient beds, facilitating timely admission and transfer decisions, and supporting safe, efficient, patient-centred and trauma-informed care in line with NSW Health and SLHD policies, standards, and performance targets. The position has operational responsibility for the management of Emergency Department (ED)-accessible inpatient wards and provides leadership, support, and oversight to senior mental health nurses working across SLHD Emergency Departments. The role promotes effective patient flow, clinical governance, workforce coordination, and service delivery to ensure optimal consumer outcomes and the efficient use of resources.
