About this role

The Property Operations team delivers a broad range of property services to support the department's national property portfolio. APS 6 Senior Property Officers provide specialist advice and lead the delivery of complex property-related activities, projects and business outcomes requiring a high level of initiative, judgement and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to an Assistant Director, the roles support the delivery of facilities management, capital works project delivery, leasing and accommodation, governance, reporting, stakeholder engagement, contract management and workplace service initiatives. The roles work closely with the department's Property Services Provider (PSP), contractors and other service providers to ensure property services are delivered effectively and contribute to strategic and operational outcomes across the department's national property portfolio. The roles are responsible for managing complex issues, providing strategic and operational advice, leading governance and assurance activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives and building productive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. This recruitment process is being conducted to fill current vacancies within the Property Operations team and establish a merit pool for future vacancies over the next 18 months. Opportunities may arise across a range of property functions, including facilities management, capital works project delivery, leasing and accommodation management, governance and reporting. Responsibilities of an APS 6 Senior Property Officer may include: • Managing complex property, facilities management, leasing, accommodation or governance activities across the department's national property portfolio. • Leading the planning, coordination and delivery of capital works, workplace change and service improvement projects. • Managing contracts and service provider relationships, including engagement with the department's PSP. • Developing high-quality briefs, submissions, reports, policy advice and strategic documentation for senior executives and decision-makers. • Providing specialist advice and recommendations on property-related matters, risks and opportunities. • Leading governance, compliance, assurance and reporting activities to support organisational and legislative requirements. • Identifying, assessing and managing risks, issues and dependencies across projects and programs of work. • Building and maintaining productive relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and external service providers. • Driving continuous improvement, business transformation and service delivery reform initiatives. • Mentoring and supporting team members and contributing to a positive team culture. • Undertaking other duties as required.
